Every year the kids look forward to our ward's trunk-or-treat. In our church, everyone lines their cars up and the children 'trunk-or-treat' to each car. It makes it a simpler business than going door to door, and I feel comfortable allowing them to eat the candy they've collected. Our ward has a chili and cornbread dinner beforehand, along with a parade of the children in their costumes. We always bring the Lorenzens with us. This year we decided to theme our costumes between our two families. The boys and I have been reading 'The Wizard of Oz', so we decided that would be a fun theme.
Alec and James really wanted to be flying monkeys. Super cute villains!
Evy was our little brunette, so she got cast as Dorothy. Her shoes are silver, which is true to the novel, but we found little covers of red, since we figure more people have seen the film than read the book.
We even made a little 'yellow brick road' and emerald city' background (behind Matt, the Tin Man) for our car.
Here's a good shot of the whole crew.
