Last Sunday

Sunday was a big day for the boys!

Alec was assigned a talk in Primary, the topic being, 'Heavenly Father provided a Savior and makes it possible for me to return to His presence'. He told me his thoughts on the topic, I helped him put them together cohesively, then I made him practice 2-4x a day. At the end? Cute little boy gave his memorized talk!...looking down at the podium. Ah, well. I'm so proud of him & his hard work. He's getting a great start at public speaking. A few months ago he started going up to bear his testimony on Fast Sunday. Everytime, he walks up to a seat, waits his turn, then says in the microphone, "I know Heavenly Father lives." Sweet and to the point! He's a great example to me.

James started his first week in Primary as a Sunbeam! It shoud have been the week before, but he was so fussy over his ear infection that we kept him home. His teachers, the Wagners, are fantastic! Schoolteachers by profession, they already possess the patience to handle the wiggly 3-year olds  who are still belligerent over the loss of snack time and toys to play with.

We live in an amazing ward for many reasons. Number one for me: a lot of young families-which equates to loads of amazing friends for my children.

But, I think our ward is best characterized by the members' willingness to serve one another. A pregnant and sick sister needs help watching her children? People are lining up to take them, and bring by meals! Elderly sister needs a ride to the doctor's? Plenty of volunteers! I love it. I love helping out as often as we are capable to create a united ward family. Plus, we feel confident that help is there, should we need it. Serving others has been a huge blessing for our family, I love watching my children (slowly) learn to share their things and play with so many wonderful friends.
