Once again my 'stray dog magnet' was working and I found a little terrier/dachsund on the road. I could feel each of her vertebrae when I picked her up through her matted fur! My family didn't want any strays around, but quickly gave in (she's sweet, cuddly and great with Alec and the other dogs). So, after blowing the money we'd set aside for Alec's new clothes on vet bills; she's shaved, healthy & bathed.
Here's a picture after I trimmed her face a bit:

Here she is after a shave (the vet had to give her a sedative to shave her, as the fur was matted to her skin-poor little dear):

Here she is by the other dogs for scale. She weighs 8 pounds, 9 ounces, should weigh about 15 pounds.

So, if you know anyone looking for a dog, let me know! :)

You should ask Sabrena about the time we tried to pick up a stray-- coaxing it into our car. It was BIG, and lanky, and skittish with aweful long wirey legs. After a discussion involving a description of the "stray," Dan convinced us it was probably good we didn't let the coyote into my little 2 door Tercel.
He looks harmless. You should get your clothes off of craiglist.org (type in your area and what you want) anyway. That is often what we do.
Three cheers for pity!
How funny. You truly have a heart of gold, Kylie.
You and your incredibly soft spot for dogs...so sweet! You and your cousin Colin share that love of dogs! The newest stray is really cute and it's obvious she's comfortable in her new surroundings! We're not looking for a dog right now, but I do hope you all find a good home for her! Congratulations and enjoy! Have fun and take care! Love you lots!
Blessings,
-Sarah :)
She is so cute! I bet she will be even cuter when she gets her fur back!
