A bit of catching up...

Not much has happened lately, so here are some cute pictures and small tidbits.

After trying out the 'bowl cut' and discovering it made Alec's head look huge, I tried a simpler approach, just a 1". Here's a 'before' picture and then several 'after's:We have officially started into the tantrum phase and time-outs are being employed. Here's Alec attempting to be let off early with pleas of "Mamma" and crocodile tears (yes, he is wearing his train swimsuit over his overalls).Last weekend Alec got invited to the 'girls night' my sister Kari threw (during Kevie's bachelor party). I missed the photo, but during 'Bride & Prejudice' he lifted his shirt (as the girls wear saris) and started dancing to the Bollywood film!! Too funny.Just enjoying some Play-Doh time with daddy:Alec's first hockey game:Alec still loves his baths:

Just because he wants to...

Alec is very opinionated and incredibly stubborn (poor kid takes after his mom!). So, clothing tends to be a compromise. I usually let him choose the shirt, then I pick the matching shorts. It only backfires when I forget to pack up pajamas he's outgrown, that have colorful characters on them.

His favorite shoes are his Thomas slippers (thanks young Russells!), and he consistently loses one, but still insists on wearing the other. Ah, my cheeky little man...He still loves bugs at the park, but now dirt is a close second. I'm okay with him playing in it, running it all over his legs, but I draw the line at putting it in Milo's fur-way too thick.Of course, picking the days' activities is always good. From 'chahhhk'...
To 'kike' flying! It seems to work, all the smiles make me think he's pretty happy with his life. And, just for Kelsey, here's an attempt at getting Alec to perform:

Time with the Grandparents

Paul's parents were able to come visit for 2 weeks, much to Alec's delight!

One funny story: Alec came downstairs and saw his grandad eating and immediately folded his arms and started jabbering away at him. Grandad said he was telling him off for not praying in front of him!

And, of course, no day in Alec's life is complete without playing 'choo choo's...

Alec actually cried and fussed in the when they got out at the airport, we'll just have to get excited about next year's trips.

Cute Pictures

Alec's so happy to have his daddy home!! The video chatting apparently worked-he had no problem immediately re-bonding.

It's also nice to have him around in the mornings for walks:

Here's Milo & Maggie waiting patiently at the door until we allow them to come in.

Alec is really into 'Thomas the Tank Engine', he now carries a plastic engine around and constantly wants to call out, 'choo choo'.

We started taking Alec into nursery at 17 months old and he's certainly enjoying it. I can't believe how fast he's growing...

Here he is enjoying his daddy taking off his Sunday clothes:

I was just playing around with color settings on the camera-I loved the dangling feet:

One of Alec's "party tricks" is to ask him to do his 'He-Man'. He tenses up his face & clenches his fists, SO funny!

Some days Alec's just incredibly photogenic and I get loads of cute shots:

Spiked Hair and Pioneer Day!!

I'm tired of people telling me Alec's a 'big boy' because he looks about 9 months old. He's right on track for weight, but, like his parents, he will always appear much younger than his age. So, when his Uncle Kevie spiked his hair, I liked it! His hair is so light it looks funny in pictures, but I think it makes him look older.

Saturday Alec was able to attend 'Pioneer Day' with his Uncle Christopher & Auntie Jo (I had to finish up more classwork). He had a great time and was so smiley when he came home!! Here he is enjoying the slide with the protection of Auntie Jo:

Apparently there was a little girl on the teeter-totter, so Alec walked up to her and rubbed her arm and she got scared and ran off! He then attempted to enjoy the toy himself:

Ahhh...watermelon. Alec loves this sticky, messy fruit and they've been especially sweet all summer. Luckily he also enjoys baths at the end of the day...

Fun at the Park

The sun has been shining and the temperature perfect, so when Auntie Kari walked to the park to study this afternoon, Alec and I tagged along. I pushed him over in his car, so he was naturally excited. Once at the park we went on the swing, which he enjoys at a slow speed. We went down the slide together which he loved, then played in the grass. Living in Vegas he's not used to grass and immediately tried to grab bits and put them in his mouth. After finding he didn't enjoy the taste he was content to crawl around and practice standing (we're up to 9 seconds now and a wobbly step forward).

I don't know if it was just the sunshine (or the fact that his top incisors FINALLY came through, so now he's happy), but he seemed very photogenic today and I took loads of pictures. I've included more on his photo website. Also, because we put so many photos on it, we've created several separate photo albums and the link on the left side of this page is showing 9-10 months old and will continue to show the most recent photos, otherwise there were just too many photos-well over 300...
